Last Day Of School

It's Friday. The last day of school and the start of my first holiday here in Australia. Things were pretty normal at the start. However, when it came to the end of school, I could see people hugging (girls only) and saying goodbye to each other. Also, it seemed that the weather suited everyone's feelings. It was cold, windy and raining pretty heavily. I took quite a while to say goodbye to everyone. Somehow, I really wanted to. Not sure why though... It was as if I were leaving them for good...

Holiday Plans

It's Thursday today. After tomorrow, holidays begin! I'm so happy right now. I will be going back to school on 17th April. Now, I'm thinking of how to spend my first holiday here in Australia. I've already have some made up in my mind. Exercise! It's time I started excercising. I haven't been doing much since I came here. So, that's definitely a must on my "To-Do" list. Any more suggestions?

大长今 all over again...

OK, this is pretty embarrassing. I have been watching Dae Jang Gum again here. I don't know what happened! While I was doing my homework, this image of the main character (大长今) came up in my head. After my homework, I immediately put the disc into the DVD player and watched it. I've been hooked ever since...

Weird...

Maybe that's one weird thing about me. I don't mind watching shows over and over again. This applies to songs as well, just like naniecheng... Hehe...

Guess I'm just bored?

Casual Wear Day

This was known as Casual Wear Day. I found it pretty clever for my school to think of this. If we wanted to wear our casual wear, we would have to donate $2 for some foundation (I can't remember what it was). Also, you could wear your national costume, but you would have to donate $2 as well.

There was an overwhelming response. Most people wore their casual wear, with some wearing their national costume, especially the Indians.

During lunch, we were all entertained by a few Greek guys dancing a Greek traditional dance, I think... There were also wushu artists and break-dancers. It took up half of our lunch times, leaving us a short time to eat. But it was really good and entertaining.

P.S: I did wear my casual wear...

A Glimpse Of Our House

I just realised that I haven't shown you pictures of my house which I have promised.
So here goes... (Most of the pictures are not very well taken though)

This is my room. Yes, I now have a computer for school use. And, I have my own bed!

This is Debbie's room. Believe it or not, she has a beanbag in it. On the other side of the room are her closets...

This is the rumpus room. We store all our boxes here because this is the biggest room in the house. Mum does her ironing here as well...

This is the master bedroom. My mum sleeps here, with Debbie sometimes...

This is the front door, leading to the front yard. That "triangle" with the plant inside was previously used as a small pond!

This is the living room. Pretty cosy... Love watching TV here...

This is the kitchen. We usually have our dinner on that dining table at the back. Cosy!!!

The other side of the kitchen leading to the rumpus room...

This is the backyard. Never had a backyard in Singapore. Debbie and I usually hang out around here... Playing volleyball, soccer and tennis. Don't ask how we get to play in such a samll area. I have no idea either...

This was taken from the backyard. The back view of the house...

This is the famous lemon tree. I just plucked out lemons from it so it looks so "botak"...

This is actually a space for a boat. But Debbie and I play tennis here! Keke...

Maths Test (Part 2)

I got a 100 for the Maths test! I am so darn happy right now. Mum was also happy for me. This was really good news for me and my family. I wasn't the only one who got 100 though. There was another girl who had 100. Must watch out for her... She had 99 for the first test...

Oh, by the way... She's indian... LOL...

Golf

I wanted to post this yesterday, but something happened. So, here goes...

Being here in Australia has exposed me to many things. For example, today, my uncle brought my mum, my sister and I to the golf driving range. I have never played golf in my life. Well, I have played mini-golf but in this case, we could hit the ball with full force. That was what I have always wanted to try.

My uncle showed us how to hold the club first. Then, he showed us how to swing it. After that, my sister decided to give it a try. We didn't try it with the ball first. We practiced and practiced and when we felt like we were ready, we used the ball.

The ball was in front of me, the club in my hand. I didn't know why I was so nervous. I hit the ball with full force. "Ping!". I looked at the ball go further and further...

The ball had gone pretty far, for a first-timer (I'm not trying to be arrogant). Even, my mum was impressed. However, as I hit more balls, the result was getting less impressive... Oh well, this was an experience for all of us.

Maths Test

Took a Maths test today. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Actually, I took another Maths test before and I got 88. Good, but not good enough. I wasn't the highest. Wow, I was quite surprised! Before I came to Australia, everyone was saying "You'll get first for sure!". However, it seems that there are smart people here, even smarter people!!!

Let's just hope I get better for this test!

Good Times.. Good Times (Part 2)

I had a fun time in the party yesterday. It wasn't as pink as I thought it would be as there were people who did not wear pink clothes. However, majority wore pink so I felt right at home. I made many new friends, more than I imagined.

The last person arrived at 6:35 pm. For 15 minutes, everyone was talking to each other. I had to socialise because I was new to them and they were new to me. It wasn't hard to because they were very friendly. We chatted quite a lot before dinner started. Dinner consisted of pizzas, pasta, potato wedges and lasagne, and of course, cake. It was a chocalate raspberry cake with 14 candles on it. It was really big. After singing the birthday song, we dug in. The cake was delicious and very filling. I had a hard time finishing it. Some of them shared the cake while some only ate half of it. After that, some decided to watch a movie with the birthday girl. They encouraged me to go with them but I had to go back home before 9 (The movie ended at 10:30 pm). We said goodbye to each other and I went back home.

Here are some pictures (again) of the party. There were none with me inside though... I forgot...

A guy and a girl borrowed my glasses for the pictures. Who are they? You figure it out...
